How to Import a List in PropStream

Do you have old lead lists from another source with contact data you need? With PropStream, you can easily import them into My Properties or Contacts to keep all your data in one place. From there, you can organize, edit, and launch powerful marketing campaigns directly from the web app. In this video, we’ll walk you through how to import into both sections so you can centralize your lists and put them to work. Video Transcript: How to Import a List in PropStream

Did you know you can import your old lead lists into PropStream? Whether you bring in property records or contact details, PropStream makes it easy to centralize your data for more innovative marketing. Let’s walk through both ways you can do this — from importing into My Properties and Contacts.

Part 1: Importing Property Lists via My Properties

If you have an old property list you'd like to update or filter for more targeted marketing, importing it into My Properties is simple.

  1. Go to the “My Properties” page and click the Import List button.
  2. You’ll see three simple steps:
    • Step 1: Download the spreadsheet template provided. This format ensures we can correctly map your addresses to our database.
    • Step 2: Copy your data into the template. Make sure you do not rearrange the template format. This format will match PropStream’s column format. 
    • Step 3: Click “Choose File” and upload your updated file.

From there, you can add the records to an existing list or create a new one. Then hit “Save.”

PropStream will begin processing your list. The screen refreshes every 15 seconds to show:

  • How many records were uploaded
  • Which ones matched successfully
  • Which ones failed (with reasons provided in a downloadable report)

Once complete, you'll receive an email notification. You can also:

  • Export your updated lists
  • Skip trace the records
  • Send postcards
  • Or even monitor the list with Lead Automator to automatically flag or remove properties that no longer meet your criteria (like properties that were sold or are now occupied)

Part 2: Importing Contacts via Contacts

Need to bring in your personal contact lists instead of just properties? You can do that too, right through the Contacts tab.

  1. Head over to Contacts, then click on the Import option.
  2. As with property lists, you'll download the template, format your contact info to match, and upload your file.
  3. Once uploaded, you can:
    • Tag and organize contacts
    • Link them to properties
    • Launch direct outreach using skip tracing, email, or postcard campaigns
